· Preschool Transition:
§ District Level Transition Team developed with local preschools, Kindergarten teachers and elementary principal. Coordinated staff exchanges between the preschools and district, preschool visits, academic information exchange between preschools and incoming Kindergarten students
§ Berks County Preschool Transition Team: Collaborative effort of local school districts and United Way to formalize a transition plan. Additional focus on creating Berks County Kindergarten teacher professional development exchange
§ Pennsylvania Department of Education Transition Workgroup: Develop a formalized transition plan to be recommended for State use.
· Curriculum Development: Leading major district initiative to curriculum map, analyze data and create common assessments utilizing Performance Plus software
§ Curriculum Mapping: District involvement in diary mapping and creation of consensus maps for all subjects/course K-12. Summer trainings and all 2010-2011 District Inservice time devoted to task. 2011-2012; analyze curriculum by departments evaluating redundancies, omissions and correlation to PA standards K-12 and create core maps
§ Data Analysis: Lead teams in the 2011 school year to analyze district, school and student performance data relative to PA standards and mapped curriculum. Target identified weak skills and revamp curriculum to meet student needs.
§ Common Assements: Create common assessments which can be analyzed and effectively be used as formative assessment tools to change curriculum in a timely fashion.
§ Curriculum Cycle: Organize the curriculum review process, selection of instructional materials and supplies, and procurement of other items necessary for effective teaching.

§ Oversee the district staff development program for district employees including support staff, teachers, and administrators.
§ Certify and report to the Pennsylvania Department of Education Act 48 Professional Development hours for district professional employees.

· Coordination of Educational Programs:
§ Collaboration with Kutztown University (KU) to infuse student teachers and professional semester students with cooperating teachers benefiting both collegial and Brandywine students. § Guest Teacher Program supported as a presenter, host of observations and interviewee.
§ Ongoing development of the first/second grade and third/fourth grade looping program; one teacher remains with a class for two years. Presentation video created documenting positive effects and implementation of a looping program to Pennsylvania Department of Education.
· District Grants: Federal Programs and PAPACT Coordinator, responsible for a combined $950,000 in grants allocations

Elementary Principal (Rockland and Longswamp Elementary Schools )
· 2007-2009: Accepted the position of Elementary Principal of Rockland and Longswamp Elementary Schools in the Brandywine Heights Area School District . Both buildings are K-2 buildings. This was an extremely valuable experience working as an administrator in the early childhood K-2 setting.
· Development of Curriculum and associated materials for the elementary program.
· Creation of professional development opportunities as the inservice lead for the elementary schools.
· Full Day Kindergarten:
§ Researched and presented the benefits of Full Day Kindergarten to the administration, school board and public through presentations and position papers
§ Implemented Full Day Kindergarten in the Brandywine Heights Area School District .
Organization: Established physical layout of classrooms, coordinated furniture needs for the FDK classrooms in the district, created FDK schedules and curriculum development
Academics: The initial year of the program there were achievement increases in Reading skills=Half Day Kindergarten 72% to Full Day Kindergarten 82%. In mathematics, scores doubled in the mastery of all reported skills from Saxon Math (Half Day K at 45% to FDK at 90%). Attendance rates increased as well (93.5% to 95.8%). Utilizing the KidWriting program, students who wrote three-four sentences increased from 10% in Half Day K to 75% in FDK.

My wife, Amanda, and I live in Dryville , Pennsylvania on a small farm. We have twin girls that are five years old and a little girl who just turned two. My father is a Lutheran Pastor and my mother worked as a nursing instructor for the Reading Hospital .
